Position: Director National Scientific and Technical Information Center (NSTIC)

ãÏíÑ ÇáãÑßÒ ÇáæØäí ááãÚáæãÇÊ ÇáÚáãíÉ æÇáÊßäæáæÌíÉ

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plans, directs, supervises, coordinates and ensures that all aspects of NSTIC   functions including collection, development, selection, acquisition, organization of information materials and provision of information services are in place and that the management of an integrated computerized information system is done efficiently and effectively.
• Plans, develops, promotes and enhances information service programs of interest to public and private sector clients in Kuwait, and cooperates with concerned national, regional and international organizations for transfer and exchange of information and standardization of library systems and services.
• Identifies opportunities to improve the library performance, creates actions to deliver, monitor and measure performance against an agreed plan and ensures actions are taken to achieve the set goals.
• Plans the Division’s manpower training and career development.

Qualifications:

• Applicant should be of grade 16 or equivalent, and above.
• B.A/B.sc or Master of Library or Information Science or equivalent.
• 10 years of related experience in a similar automated technical library or information center including 5 years in a managerial position.
• Very good command over Arabic and English.
