GEOPHYSICIST Background: The successful candidate will become a member of the Natural Water Resources and Development Program at KISR. The aim of the program is to sustainably optimize the use and management of natural water resources. Major duties: To characterize aquifer–aquitard systems in terms of hydraulics and groundwater quality; to monitor aquifers’ freshwater–brackish water and brackish water – saline water fronts under dynamic conditions; and to locate buried structural and petrographical features. Qualifications: Applicants should have a PhD in geophysics and a minimum of five years of relevant experience, or an MSc in geophysics and a minimum of ten years of relevant experience. Applicants should be versatile, with abilities to use appropriate techniques and methods, and state-of-the-art tools in field surveys, as well as in mathematical modeling and interpretation of field data. Applicants should have demonstrated abilities to develop, market and execute research proposals, as well as in disseminating outcomes through publication. |
