OPERATIONS RESEARCHER Background: The successful candidate will become a member of the Technoeconomics Program at KISR. The aim of the program is to support public policy and economic development in Kuwait. Major duties: To plan, manage and execute applied research in a broad range of specialized fields by formulating problems, selecting methodologies, and preparing and presenting research proposals; to identify potential applications for research, and pursue research contracts; and to conduct training programs for more junior staff. Qualifications: Applicants should have a PhD in operations research or statistics, or a related field, and strong analytical skills. Applicants should also have experience in the application of or techniques (i.e., optimization, risk management, quality control, supply-chain management, mathematical programming, stochastic modeling, statistical modeling etc.) used in the application of statistical analysis to large-scale problems in the public and private sectors. |
