NATIVE PLANT ECOLOGIST Background: The successful candidate will become a member of the Biodiversity of Terrestrial Ecosystems Program at KISR. The aim of this program is to address the ongoing large-scale terrestrial degradation and loss of ecosystem services in Kuwait. Major duties: To develop and execute research projects on desert rehabilitation, the re-vegetation of coastal areas, and the cultivation and propagation of native plants, especially in the intertidal zone and sabkha environment; to assist in research related to biodiversity conservation and protected areas; to contribute to database development and maintenance; to develop and maintain a positive relationship with the biodiversity sector; and to contribute to manpower training and development. Qualifications: Applicants should have a PhD in plant ecology. Applicants should have a minimum of seven years of relevant experience, and demonstrated experience in developing, marketing and executing research projects. Applicants should have experience in leading projects, teams and/or investigations. |
