KISR Implements a Rubber Asphalt Project

Published on: Jan 06, 2020

KISR implemented a rubber asphalt project as the first experimentation of its kind in the field of paving roads at the State of Kuwait. This project aimed to apply the rubber asphalt technology as one of the environmental proposals to provide engineering solutions for the disposal of damaged tyre waste, and improve the efficiency and performance of asphalt roads. The project of rubber asphalt technology is one of the projects that has been listed in the 8th Strategic Plan of the Energy and Building Research Center (EBRC).

This project is one of the most important environmental projects related to the road industry, and the sustainability of raw materials to develop asphalt mixtures to pave the roads of the State of Kuwait.  This technology contributes to avoiding many problems that Kuwait faces, such as flying gravel, cracks, grooves, holes that lead to corrosion, and pavement deterioration.
