Feasibility Study of Slurry Phase Hydrocracking (SPH) Technology for Upgrading Kuwait Heavy Crude

Understanding how new technology effects future investments

To fill the gap between the supply and demand of petroleum, unconventional crude has to be processed. The main objective of this project is to examine in detail the feasibility of applying slurry phase hydrocracking (SPH) technology based on the business models that the Kuwait oil sector considers best for future investment. The project will also investigate the engineering parameters for the commercialization process and design a demonstration plant for the SPH process capable of handling Kuwait heavy crude.
