Silane Grafting and Crosslinking of Polyethyelene Nanocomposites for High Temperature Applications

Polyethylene (PE) is a volume leader in the global plastic industry

Polyethylene (PE) is a volume leader in the global plastic industry with numerous applications. However, its low upper service temperature makes virgin PE unsuitable for the applications requiring continuous use under stress at higher temperatures, especially in cable coating and hot water pipes. This project investigates the crosslinking performances of different polymers, and its nanocomposites. It will also record the performances of crosslinked polyethyelene (XLPE) in terms of mechanical, thermal, rheological, and morphological properties. This project shows significant promise for cable and wire coating industries.
