Evaluation of Different Commercial Feeds on Sobaity for Optimum Growth, Performance, Muscle Quality and Cost of Production
Identifying cost effective food source
To identify a cost-effective feed that can also be used for the commercial production of sobaity, three commercial feeds, (Arasco, Skretting, and Biomar), were tested. These feeds were evaluated on three sobaity growth stages; fry (5–50 g), fingerlings (50–200 g), and grow-out (200–>600 g). Based on growth performance, feed utilization, cost of production, and nutritional quality of fish muscle it was determined that Skretting may be the most suitable type of feed for the commercial production of sobaity.
